At the 2013 North American International Auto Show, in Detroit, Hyundai introduced what's known as its HCD-14 Genesis Concept a dynamic, upmarket model that we hoped, after one look, provided insight into the history of the Hyundai Genesis nameplate.

In fact, its striking exterior, clean lines and rear suicide doors (a feature we probably won't be seeing in production-form, but hey, we can dream, right?) all lent themselves to one of the most innovative concepts we had ever seen and one we were quite proud came from Hyundai.

Well, it turns out we weren't the only ones impressed with the HCD-14 Genesis Concept. And, though we kind of had an inkling this was the case after we read rave review upon rave review of the model, there is new evidence to support our suspicions.

That is that the Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis Concept have been named the 2013 Concept Car of the Year as determined by a panel of knowledgeable automotive journalists, across North America.

"Hyundai's California Design Center has been turning out some impressive work, and I think the HCD-14 is one of their best," explains Chris Poole, juror and editor-at-large for Consumer Guide Auto, in Chicago. "The ultra-clean coupe-like styling has both flair and presence, and I like the grille; it reminds me of certain early Ferraris. The interior is wild, but I applaud the lack of a center stack-provided Hyundai has figured out new controls that are at least as user-friendly. If the next production Genesis is anything like this stunner, I say, bring it on!"1.

We at Fox Hyundai echo Mr. Poole's statement as we can't wait to see what the next-generation Hyundai Genesis will have to offer.
