If there's one thing those of us at Fox Hyundai can tell you about the Sonata, it's that it's one stylish car. For the 2014 model year, this winning look has been updated to give an even more upscale feel both inside and out, along with some other new features.
The updates going into the 2014 iteration are visual as well as technological. The stylish statement made by the Sonata's design has been further augmented by a new grille and rear fascia, while the cabin has seen improvements such as a third-generation entertainment system and full leather steering wheel.
One thing, however, hasn't changed. That would be the Sonata's powerful engine options and top-notch fuel economy.
That's right. The standard engine across all trims, the 2.4-liter GDI DOHC four-cylinder engine with Dual-CVVT, is still present, and still offers an impressive 190 horsepower and 179 lb.-ft of torque and EPA-estimated 24 mpg city, 35 mpg highway. On the higher SE trim, which is fitted with standard dual exhaust, these numbers are bolstered by 2 horsepower, and 2 lb.-ft of torque respectively.
On the SE and Limited, the Sonata's two highest trims, a 2.0-liter Turbo GDI DOHC four-cylinder engine with Dual-CVVT is offered, with some pretty impressive results. This engine boasts 274 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft of torque, while managing to keep fuel economy sacrifices to a minimum.
