Hyundai is an automaker that has it all. Well, almost. But, soon, we at Fox Hyundai will definitively be able to say that about the South Korean automaker.
That's because Hyundai has announced that a next-generation all-wheel drive system known as HTRAC will be available in the upcoming new Hyundai lineup. Specifically, an all-wheel drive system will be available in the next version of the signature Hyundai Genesis sedan.
How do we know this? Well, because we've seen the proof, in spy shots. And, we've also learned through recent Hyundai news just a little bit about the new HTRAC system.
As you wise Hyundai-fans may have already guessed, the 'H' in HTRAC stands for "Hyundai." As for the rest of it, that designates "traction." Hyundai's explanation about the system is that it will have multiple driving modes and will be stable and secure helping the vehicles in which its fitted firmly grip the roadway at all times.
And, speaking of road conditions, the new system
also has a genius way of splitting torque between the front and rear axles making it able to adapt to any condition it encounters.
Explaining more about the system, Vice Chairman and head of Hyundai Motor Group’s Research and Development Center, Woong-Chul Yang, says, "Hyundai Motor’s HTRAC system has secured best-in-class durability and driving performance through strict tests carried out in various locations worldwide, including the famed Nurburgring in Germany, the Yeongarn F1 circuit in Korea and in severe winter tests in Europe. We expect our customers to feel world-class safety and driving performance in the all-new Genesis equipped with the HTRAC system."1
