And in 2013, we are incredibly pleased to announce, Hyundai Motors America had their best sales year ever, breaking their own record from 2012. Clearly, this is an automotive company that is on the rise. Let's take a look at the sales numbers and some of the reasons why more and more drivers are choosing Hyundai as their model of choice.
Some specific models that posted strong sales figures in the model year 2013 were the Sonata and the Elantra. The US built Elantra posted a sales number of 247,912 in the year, which represents a 23 percent sales increase over 2012, and as the Sonata is receiving a highly anticipated in the 2014 model year, we expect the strong sales trend will continue on into the new year.
“An exceptionally strong post-Christmas sales blitz enabled Hyundai to shatter our annual sales record which was set just last year,” said Dave Zuchowski, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. “All year-end indicators appear to be signaling a robust economic environment for 2014. This is welcome news for the automotive sector and at Hyundai we’re particularly excited to be ringing in the New Year.”
