Just one look at the fully redesigned 2017 Hyundai Elantra and you'll likely recognize: the South Korean automaker served up a stunner.

Yet, what makes it so? The answer, conveniently enough, can be found in the clip below. Ride out with Kelley Blue Book Managing Video Editor Micah Muzio to receive the inside scoop:

An altogether exquisite entry-level engine, the Elantra's 2.0-liter four-cylinder delivers the goods in just about every manner imaginable. Available transmission types include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic, the latter of which is optional on the SE trim and standard on the Limited.

No matter which gearbox you go with, though, you're bound to find the base four-banger plenty peppy, as it's good for a hearty 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. We'd also note that it's especially economical when had with the manual transmission; so equipped, it's estimated to return 29 mpg combined (26 city/36 highway).
